  1. While growing up, Norman Wisdom films were on regular on BBC and as a kid I remember rolling around laughing and in hsyterics. He was just so funny and appealed to me. The only other film set that come close is the Pink Panther films.

    RIP Norman.

  2. A m8 (yea i have one) has 3 kids and a fairly large DVD collection, as it stands right now he just has a word document with the title in a long line which isn't a great idea when kids wanna pick a movie or something so talking to him the other day he asked about software that would do some of this work for him in a nice UI (in an ideal world with some form of cover art) I know there is a fair few out there but wondering if anyone has any suggestions, he does not want to spend a fortune on it maybe £30 and once he's bought it he does not want to be paying for some kind of subscription of any kind so just a one of payment, your thoughts?

You have me trying to think now what the hell I used to use at one stage. It was a fab piece of software where you entered the bar code or movie code which is shown on the box and it found it for you which is fab as there are many different versions of the same film if you just put the film name in. I will rack my brain for you.

  3. Your boy needs to do his national service like we all did.

    You need

    48k spectrum

Copy of Computer and video games

He will find a game listing in the magazine which will be approx 10 pages long full of code.

He needs to enter this exactly with any hope of it working.

One missed word or letter then his epic game will not work

He will defo find it does not work but will be up to early hours of the morning sobbing, checking and rechecking 10 times that every is correct.

In the magazine 2 issues later they print an amendment as they made an error.

    Game will now work

  4. Charity begins at home this country is bankrupt yet these idiots are still forking out millions of pounds of our money ,To pay for the popes visit Pakistan aid etc etc.

completely agree with you buddy and today I have sent a letter to Andrew Mitchell, International Development Secretary questioning these donations when only a few weeks back cameron said that Pakistan breeds terrorism and why we should pay when Pakistan spends $5.18 billion on defence.

This has gone to his secretary to be passed on to him.

  5. I have been following this with interest when I first heard about it a few months back.

They have been sending out consultation papers to software companies that provide payroll services such as sage, 123 pay etc.

Not one is in agreement and have said its such a dangerous road to go down.

I provide payroll services myself and this will just never work. Look at the fiasco with the NHS trying to centalise all that.

I actually don't think it will ever work or come into practice except for stage 1 which is maybe sending what is due in realtime rather than at the end of the year.

  6. Can anyone help me out here ?

One of the tracks included with a request list for a forthcoming wedding I'm DJ'ing is used in the movie Police Academy 5, in the limbo dancing on the beach scene.

I have tried all the usual sources to find info on it, even wrote to WBros (no reply yet), and had absolutely no luck except finding the scene on YooToob, so I'm currently downloading the whole movie from a torrent as a last resort to find the info in the end credits, but it's going to take about 3 weeks at the current download rate and I only have 8 days left !!

Has anyone got this movie ??

Could you take a quick look at the end credits for me and get the details, pretty please :Smiler:

  7. I have one which I got last week. I must say that I never entertained the idea of buying one but i was actually given one as a present of a client

Well so far all I can say is I have hardly put it down. Whereas all day or evening I have the laptop or pc on Its been left off now as the iPad has taken over tasks such as mainstream web browsing, watching movies, iplayer, YouTube and listening to music.

Its great to lie in bed and surf rather than hunched over the laptop/pc.

It's a great device and I think now if I lost or broke it, I would go out and buy another.

  8. fuel_price.gif

On my little image the manufacturer gets only 27p and the retailer 9p = 36p

The government gets (duty+vat) 80p per litre (based on £1.16/litre) at last years 15% VAT.

V.A.T has (as we know) reverted back to 17.5% in January and next year V.A.T @ 20% so even more for the government.

So when the cost of oil goes up then the government get an even bigger slice based on their duty calculations.

I am already cutting back on my mileage not because of global warming but because I can't afford the petrol.

Petrol prices effects the poor even more because it's a bigger percentage of their (already low) income.

Don't forget adding to the government coffers is the amount paid in corporation tax by the retailer and manufacturer. Even through you are not paying this directly the effect of you filling up is to increase the profits of the retailer and manufacturer and hence more money going to the governement so in fact you could say rather than 80p going to the governement its more than that.

I also have been cutting back on driving. In fact I have been biking to some of my work places for approx 3 months now. The way I see it is i reckon each journey there and back costs me approx £4.00 on fuel (I exclude all wear and tear costs but this is also saved). I bike about 3 times a week and work home other days. So £12 saved in a week. If I can do this approx for 40 weeks of the year thats almost £500 saved. I always go on holiday as most know to Thailand which costs me airfare wise £500. So by biking I save enough money to pay for my airfare.

Also it keeps me fitter, I get there in approx 8 minutes as opposed to most days sitting in car in traffic jam taking almost 30 mins and I lock bike outside. The downside is my life expectancy is a little lower due to the shite drivers we have on our roads - yes thats you Mrs 4x4 who has no spacial awareness at all.
