You see i think most folks would have no issues with it being used for this, howeverANPR can be used usefully, but I believe it should be a targetted 'weapon' - i.e. a roadside check.
I wonder how many people know this and if they did would it be a case of "I have nothing to hide, so no issues with it" but also is this not what sat navs due? I'm sure i read somewhere they they store bundles of info on where you have been etcThe present system stores travel details of all journeys for at least 2 years (and up to 5).
Oh come on a Govt bringing taxes via the back door surely no Govt would do that :Winky:It's also a perfect way to create a road pricing network that will be yet another tax!
This is why IMO CRB is a joke you do need something but I was horrified to know they put uncorroborated accusations on these checks and if i'm right they are there for life, bang goes the long held innocent till proven guilty, but what amazes me more then this is the fact that people don't think there is anything wrong with it :Hmm:CRB is ok in general, but when people are barred/vetted because of heresay/uncorroborated accusations,
Mind you having watched watchdog the other day they just seem to kick the door in anyway, i don't see how electric co knowing how i use my electric is a problem BUT i do see a possible problem in years to come and i'm talking about maybe a decade away where given we don't produce enough of our own energy that rationing could well come into force so they may cut your power off for a few hours a day, i know it sounds crazy but if i remember in the last cold snap this winter we were down to just a few days worth of gas left in our supply but i guess people will say i'm over reacting.Smart meters are fine in principle...however the built in software allows full surveillance of power usage combined with the ability to limit or even cut off a supply. I don't need to spell out how that capability could possibly be abused!All1

I need the challenge..
LOL yea i see your point, a couple of question though, why "ANPR data retention" ANPR as a tool can be handy (much as i hate it myself) but are you talking about logging where the number plate was spotted and it's time of day etc or ANPR itself?
Also CRB checks we need some checks on people with kids, i know there far from perfect esp the bit where they don't only list convictions but also just simple suspicions, but where does your objection lie here?
Smart meters, you've lost me on that one even i who agrees with you a fair bit can see nothing wrong in these or is there something i don't know.

Yes indeed very sad, not his greatest fan (prefer the nugget & the whirlwind) I read this yesterday and according to Sky news it has a lot to do with his teeth or lack of as the case may be, i don't know for sure what the problems are (i'm sure ooze don't help) but from whatever view you look at this is very sad, who knows in a few years time Gazza may be in the same boat, needing people's help and where are his friends then, in Higgins case it's only 20k and to some of the stars on the circuit that is nothing in fact it's loose change.

Well my plans would have been to drive in and get off at a tube station closer to Wembley (something on the Jubilee line, maybe something like Kilburn or Willesden Green) and then tube it in only 3 or 4 stops if i remember right, but only problem with that is if the thing over runs a fair bit you could miss last tube back to where your car is, of course you could try and grab a black but from my experience there as rare as rocking horse sh1t.
Maybe you could check out google and work how long it will be if you had to walk it from Wembley to car/tube station but don't know how well it would go down with your little one, sorry i could not be of much use but ain't been up that for a fair while now.

Oh that will help NOT, Welfare here we go again train everyone to an inch of there lives only to find out only job is in KFC, good idea to train but also nice idea if we had some kind of job for folks at the end of it,non-EU economic migrants
But next Parliament is fine :Hmm:We agree that Britain will not join or prepare to join the Euro in this Parliament.
Yea now we can bung taxes on every CCTV we have :He-he:Further regulation of CCTV.
I hope this means something on the line of taking anyone's DNA who is nicked and if no match is found it's wiped but that would be simple so i doubt that will happen, I doubt very much if they will remove innocent people's DNA of the database, after all I have nothing to hide :Winky:Adopting the protections of the Scottish model for the DNA database
Great idea but given the fact that anyone could become a terrorist at anytime I suspect they will hold every email and website i visited for the last 10 years.Ending of storage of internet and email records without good reasonThis is my best yet
So another Law/Bill to stop any more silly Laws/Bills (Classic that one).A new mechanism to prevent the proliferation of unnecessary new criminal offences.
We've got one it's called Lloyds :Teeth:The creation of a green investment bank
Great news IMO, then when Newest Labour come in they can reinstate it :Uhh:The cancellation of the third runway at Heathrow and The refusal of additional runways at Gatwick and StanstedCan anyone tell I have been watching to much Sky News of late? By the way anyone see Adam Boulton flip his lid with Alister Campbell the other day, if you have 5 mins it's great, live TV at it's best.

Advice on getting a shredder
in Open Forum
Posted
I'm looking at getting some kind of shredder, I don't have the need for it to cut DVD's/CD's or credit cards (but latter would be handy i guess) apart from it being cross cut and being able to deal with staples, is there anything else i should look for I have read that Fellowes are a decent make can i get this kind of thing for less then £40 nowadays?
