  1. I'm trying to find something but don't know the right name and i was wondering if any or your Mrs (sexist i know but who cares) may know the answer.

It's a round (not very deep) baking tin that round the outside of it has some kind of cutter that you twist round the tin when the item is cooked it stops the pie or whatever from sticking to the bottom and hence makes it come out easier, it's not the type that has a loose bottom (that's another story) but this cutting tool that is attached to the tin, does anyone know what it's called so i can search for a couple of them?

  2. Well from my point of view i'll answer the door and be nice and tell them i sent it ages ago not my fault it got lost in the post, and if they push i'll just go down the line of "am i compelled to talk to you?", or am i breaking any laws if i shut the door in your face and then see what gives.

  4. I have an air con unit, funny enough I bought it last year from B & Q, hose out the window and it works just fine, no need to empty water or anything.

Yea but it seems there are differnt kinds that in my experience work in various way and give different results, i find the kind that has a water tank works best, however i have no idea what they are called and how to ID them when there on web sites etc, some mentions water tanks then talk about filling with ice, as i say i think i need some real tech info i may just give up and ring a few air con dealers and see what they say.

  5. OK as it stands now I have 2 air con units, both are 8,000BTU but they seem to work in a different way, both have hoses that go to the outside, however one (this was the first one I bought) works by filling up a small water tank in the unit and every now and then it will bleep telling you the tank is full and needs emptying, this one is much better then the second one I bought.

The second one works by a different system where the is no tank to empty (fook knows where the water goes), the air that comes out is cool (unlike the first one where it's air is cold when it comes out), I want to buy another one (then sell the old 2nd unit) however I want the new one to be just as good as the first unit I bough i.e.; has water tank that needs emptying.

I know there are different types, my 2 plus ones that use ice packs but they don't interest me I want the same as the 1st one, does anyone know how I can make sure I get the right one, I feel i may need someone with some serious tech info here, no point in asking B&Q etc they have trouble working out what day of the week it is.

  6. Is this the type of unit your after.

To be honest i do like the look of the system above just a small amp/reciever and CD player i do worry that for £100 Pioneer maybe scrapping the bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes, something i did forget to mention was i need 3 aux inputs, (1 for PC, one for sky and one for PVR) I have been down to the London bridge place this mornig and they showed me the "Cambridge Audio one+" which looked ok and did have 3 aux inputs, sound was hard to tell to be honest and also i was using there speakers and they are better then mine, i just have a small hang up about buying an all-in-one unit it reminds me of those amstrad bits of sh1t from the 80's, looks ok on the outside but inside it's full of dust if you get my drift but i will check out that link you gave me

If you are going to use your old speakers (and they're 'portable'), I'm sure they'll hook them up for you - just give 'em a call.

Alternatively I've previously bought from them, taken home, and returned if not quite right.

There not huge but to big to cart round on and off of river buses etc, given i'm no audio buff so long as it sound "ok" i'll be happy but it's nice to know i can return and exchange for something else if the need is there, Thanks Sparks.

  8. I'd pop down to your nearest Richer Sounds,
I'd forgotton about them, i have one just over the river at London Bridge so i'll pop along and see what they have to say don't think there is much pint in listening to it to be honest as i'll be using my old speakers, but thanks for the tip, Anyone else suggest another manf to look at.

  9. I'm starting to look at replaceing my old (very) hi-fi, my old system has all the old stuff, CD/turntable/twin tapes (remember them)/tuner & amp, to be honest all i ever use it for nowadays is CD's and sometimes i listen to sky radio and tv as sky is wired into aux and then layed to me via wireless headphones.

So i need something that plays CD's, some kind of ipod dock (classic/2 nano's 4th & 5th gen) and a DAB tuner, now the advice i realy need is what manf to look for I'm looking for something like this system.

It's been a long while since i bought and home audio equipment so i'm well out the loop, I've looked at Denon and like the look of there stuff as well as Kenwood but no idea how there audio/build quality stands nowadays.

As ever ££ is an issue but happy to spend ££ so long as it's a good investment (I mean it won't go bang after 18 months), i'm no audiophile but i don't won't it sounding cr@p either, so what brand would you suggest that doe sgive decent audio/build quality and will not cost silly money.
