  1. Just to put this one to bed he used DvdProfiler and Movie Collector and has gone for the latter and to be honest it looks fairly good, might even give the trial version a bash myself, so thanks for the input guys. All1
  2. Had to got to Forest Hill this morning and on the way back home got kicked of at Catford (that place hasn't improved) but was able to pick up these goodies. 21 of them for £7.00 (he threw in a freebie bulb) Bargain IMO All1
  3. I rang them this afternoon and they said they had just moved so stock was everywhere told me to ring back next week so I'll do that before i order from US. All1
  4. Yep that's the kind of thing I was hoping someone on here would have, have to admit they have come down in price a fair bit last time i looked they were closer to £100 Mr D the band in question is a group called "I-Level" I have most of there stuff but they are not in mint condition it seems for some reason i can get mint copies in US and Canada so given they will be put into digital format i do want mint vinyl, not bothered about sleeve, i checked the shop and they have nothing but i'll give them a ring and see what they can come up with. Out of interest would anyone else be interested in putting vinyl into some kind of digital format, if there was enough of a demand i might buy the turntable myself A couple of you tube links for anyone who's interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht0JvSnTEC0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ayyg-O2OdRc BritFunk at it's best (well IMO anyway) All1
  5. I have a few vinyl albums that are not available in CD/MP3 format but they are not in the best condition so i'm getting some better (like new) copies shipped over from the US and i'd like to get them ripped to lossless and various mp3 bitrates (320 & 192) is there anyone on here or does this kind of thing on a regular basis? I'm for looking for decent quality and will ship to you and enclose stamps to cover return postage and of course something for your time, I guess at this stage i'm looking at 2 albums and about half a dozen 12" (remember them). All1
  6. I saw Jean Michel Jarre perform his "Destination Docklands" concert in London in 88 and he was doing the projecting of images on old warehouses etc and for it's time it was very good (well IMO anyway), well how things move on in time, check out the 10 minute video clip below. All1
  7. Tell us something we don't know Sparks :He-he:
  8. I agree with everything they said :Winky: All1
  9. OK thanks for the reply derren, i'll be seeing him on Monday so i'll make sure i mention that one to him All1
  10. Sounds like you mean Collectorz.com Movie Collector but there is also Moviecollectorplus, AllMyMovies as well as DVDProfiler he likes the look of Collectorz.com Movie Collector but having a quick look at it means he will have to pay out every year and he wants to try and avoid doing that if poss. All1
  11. A m8 (yea i have one) has 3 kids and a fairly large DVD collection, as it stands right now he just has a word document with the title in a long line which isn't a great idea when kids wanna pick a movie or something so talking to him the other day he asked about software that would do some of this work for him in a nice UI (in an ideal world with some form of cover art) I know there is a fair few out there but wondering if anyone has any suggestions, he does not want to spend a fortune on it maybe £30 and once he's bought it he does not want to be paying for some kind of subscription of any kind so just a one of payment, your thoughts? All1
  12. Ooops got the wrong end of the stick sorry m8 All1
  13. Cast your mind back a couple of years and I'm sure one of Jamer's kids (think it was a boy) done some kind of game creation so bung him a PM drawing his attention to this thread just in case he misses it m8, and good luck. All1
  14. Sure i feel these kinds of benefits should be means testsed to some degree but trouble with that is im sure some would see it as begging and there is no way some would even ask for it, hard one. :He-he: :Winky:
  15. Yea i see the point your making but what gets my back up is how the old folks who have paid into this country are going to get free bus passes/tv license/cold weather payments taken away from them (spending review will shed more light on this wonderful govt's way of dealing with stuff) and yet we are giving ££ away sure it may not be much in the scheme of things but it still gripes. As for £50M in arms deals is that the whole budget or just the back handers :He-he: All1
  16. True but when is enough enough? I'm 44 years of age and all i can remember is always giving even as a kid through blue peter and stuff like that, seriously are you saying we should always give because as you say yourself were in deep sh1t ourselves, and i think this is peoples point, why should we be helping others when we find it hard to help our own people, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you to tune in next month for more info after the spending review comes out :Hmm: All1
  17. I know this sounds strange but Sparks is right, but having said that i agree with badlad, before we worry about others i do this the UK needs to think of the UK first, as me ma always used to say charity begins at home. All1
  18. Yep ditto, mine is web based (not my usual pop3) but it gets checked at least 3 times a week. All1
  19. I don't know if he's forced into buying from these people given it's a govt grant, if he can buy anywhere and wants some dell stuff check out http://www.wizmarkcomputers.co.uk/index.html they have a load of dell deals on and might be worth a look. All1
  20. I just wonder how a Celeron 900/2GB RAM will cope with win7 Pro, having not played much with win 7 myself i can't comment to much, hopefully someone can give a bit more input on that one (Dave :Winky: ) the rest of it seems fine to me, tried to find what the max ram it will take via crucial's website but no luck, as i say my main concern would be the CPU. Guess it depends on who is going to be using it and what for, if it's simple surfing/email/IM/youtube/facebook i think you'll be fine, I don't know how these grants work but considering in most cases you can up the hard drive and ram i'd go for best CPU you can get then add more ram and fatter hard drive at a later date if needed, it's what i done with my laptop. All1
  21. CDex is what i use to rip my CD's to mp3's and as a rule it's very good not to sure if it works in 64bit OS or not but for 32bit OS it's first rate, very little options to play just mainly quality of bitrate but it's simple and does it's job very well, however if once your have ripped to mp3 and are not happy with CDex quality then you need to check out something called "Exact Audio Copy" it is by far the best mp3 ripper you will find, take a track you know very very well and rip it using whatever software you want and I think you'll find EAC does the best job when compressing music files into mp3 format. If your looking to burn mp3's to CD's that will play in CD player then i used to use winamp to convert to wav files then burn using nero 6.x but to be honest i do away with that now and just use Nero 6.x to convert to audio disc and it works fine, never had any issues. I never bother with lossless format to be honest (I do grab lossless format and convert to mp3 and for that i use FairStars Audio Converter) it's all well and good going for best quality but ask yourself the question can you honestly tell the differnce between 192kbps mp3's and flac? Only you can answer that one m8 All1
  22. I have a few 8CM DVD-RW turning up in next few days and looking for some 8cm plastic/pvc sleeves not jewel cases but only need about a dozen I have seen them online but all seem to be in bundles of 50 or 100 and this is overkill for me anyone know where i can get them in smaller numbers? All1
  23. DJ man I'm so sorry to hear this news I lost my own ma a few years ago so i can sympathize with you, I ain't got no time for religion mumbo jumbo, but one thing that helped me with my ma was I have always believed in some kind of after life I don't know if i mean heaven or any sh1t like that, just there is a better place then down here, and knowing (believing) that she was in a better place and pain free helps me even to this day. My thoughts are with you DJ at this crap time, look after yourself m8 and if there is anything I can do don't be afraid to ask, i'll help where ever i can. All1
  24. I'm trying to source this within the UK I have found them on US and Canadian websites http://www.macmall.com/p/3083766?dpno=587424&source=zwb12166 http://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-S-Video-Composite-Adapter-inches/dp/B0009EXWQQ Bottom line is it's a S-VHS socket that needs to be converted into a standard phone plug, I have bought one of these but it's to fat to fit into the socket, hence it needs to be a standard phone size plug I have found it on Ebay US but would be so much easier if i can UK route, anyone? All1
