Tomorrow (25 July)The UK law on online age verification comes into affect.
cobra replied to cobra's topic in Open Forum
It looks like this ONLY effects UK IP address So the are two options get an age passport (YOTI looks like the big one) Use a good VPN (This will render more then half the UK legislation about the internet 100% useless) legislation like the The Online Safety Act (OSA) and Digital Services Act (DSA) and then we have Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (So under this they can ask your ISP for a log of your internet activity) and then your ISP gives over that log and all it has is 6 IP address's from a VPN are they going to be happy with that. I will be asking for a discount from my ISP as the are now additional charges and they are NOT offing inhouse solutions. Also expect a new wave of scams from India targeting OAPs using the Online Safety Act. -

Yes it's happened I'm been asked to age verify on a website that has a 22 year old account on it. I just don't approve of the ways they are going about this. They are biometry locking down account's and are now selling you solutions to get back in to them. the are more then 100 app's on apple and google that are ID apps or online passports then the are the website that only support this one or that one the nightmare has started. The needs to be one official app that can not be rejected (under penalty of fine) Also what about the websites that do not operate in the UK or have NO interest in the UK market. -
It's the UK ID system all over again this time they have sneaked it in as age verification with photo ID This is the first bit of regulation from Ofcom as Ofcom is now the online safety regulator. I have an account on a site that I opened back in 2003 yes 22 years ago but I know when I login to tomorrow I will be asked for age verification to prove I'm over 18 when they already know I opened the account 22 years ago. (It's this bit that will annoy people) This will end up as needing a online passport and will not stop kids from using proxy/VPN to access things from outside the UK. What are your thoughts on this.

It's good to know about that internal form and the extra three-quarters of an hour to get few thousand out. One of the tips if you have the time for it is to stagger the withdraw over 4 or 5 day at £400-£500 a day if say you needed £2G Don't know if this still works on ATMs but I used to do one withdraw at 11:55pm and a 2nd at 12:05am

I have known from 2010 any transaction or withdrawal over £500 was flagged (don't know if it's still £500 today) Rother what I usually say is travel and holiday money with I don't know how good the mobile signal is going to be and I don't know if the cash machines in the area are the free to use or the pay to use ones and last time the card readers were down at one of the establishments I used and I'd like to not go through all that again thinks. This has worked about half a dozen times over the years but I have never had to fill a form in before is this new.

I know most people here are OK with using credit/debit cards and contactless Google/Apple Pay But I bet most of you know someone that will not use this and are Cash only (The are a lot of reasons for this phenomenon) The is currently a Petition to protect Cash as legal tender until 2050 I'd like to ask if the people here can sign the Petition please. (You don't have to tick the box at the bottom just click on "add signature" when you full it in) https://www.gbnews.com/cash

I had this happen at my moms but my moms has a gate and fencing but the gate gets left open a lot but after one day the was a dozen+ turds in the garden we decided to keep the gate shut but the are times when we are out and get back to find the gate open and turds on the garden (we think some one is doing this on purpose) So i got a lock for the gate but one day we got back to find the gate was broken open the wood bit that had the lock on it was on the foor. when i fix the gate i will put a spring gate closer on it. If i ever find the dog and owner I will use my airsoft M9 beretta gun (plastic BBs) on the dogs nuts that will stop it.

Anyone see the van at the end when the council worker is on it go's in the bus lane lol

It's there to stop large vehicles and large vehicles like a Bus and HGV are 9-10 feel wide so make the gap 8.11 feet wide and the are only two reasons I can think of for not letting large vehicles down a road 1st the are bridges that can not accommodate large vehicles and 2nd dead ends and cul-de-sac were large vehicles can not maneuver good.

My New Pixel 6 (has the new RCS "Rich Communications Services" replaces SMS/MMS) RCS can do all that Apple’s iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp can do in the default text app All android 12 phones AND tablets have it. I love using it but still have some friends on WhatsApp and on Apple’s iMessage I can show up as blue or green lol

With them doing U-turns on NHS staff and the fact that the omicron is more mild then covid yet if you get omicron you will have antibodies for the two types. Things will need to be reconsidered or it will start looking bad for them. we are at the point where the flu is more dangerous now.

It's actually very manipulative what Australia are doing and it's more politically motivated than scientifically motivated It's more about any influence he may on Australians than any risk of covid reinfection.

Merry Christmas everyone

Dam I got that wrong but AZ is supposed to have more side effects then Pfizer. The is one bit about all the anti vaccers if they get Covid and end up in intensive care the cocktail of drugs they are giving why they are unconscious and the side effects of them drugs is way more dangerous than anything else the vaccinations can do. So you have a vaccination and maybe feel like s**t for 1 or 2 days. intensive care & the cocktail of drugs will make you feel like s**t for 6-12 weeks and this is if your one of the lucky ones.

2 vaccinations and 1 booster is all you need (I don't think People understand that the 1st vaccination is just a half measure that's more about preparing your body for the full on 2nd vaccination) Think of it this way if you have had your 2nd jab you are only 1.5 and you need to be 2 or 2+ to protect yourself now if your booster is of the same type as the first two you will be given 1 full vaccination so you will be in the 2+ or 2.5 but if they are mixing the booster (not the same as the first two) then you will be given 0.5 up to 1 of the new vaccination making it 2 or 2+. I think this is what happened to Sir Zorro mixing the booster and 1 full shot. Zorro was the booster Moderna if not I bet it was two pfizer jabs then AZ as the booster.
