Really sorry to hear this but we know from the above its what Alloneword wanted. We all hope he is at peace now. Thank you Sterling for coming on and letting us all know. As you said it was a request from him to let us know which goes to show the always thinking of others attitude he has always done in the past - always friendly and helpful to all. Derren

could be a number of things, you just have to start from basics, what speed are you getting at the moment? how are you connecting NAS, cable to your router or to pc ? or wifi. where are you transferring the files to, from NAS to PC if connected to your router by Ethernet cable, first put it direct to your pc by Ethernet cable and check you can get a good speed there first. Could be your router slowing the speed, check port speeds on router. ideally you need Gigabit ports for full speed if by wifi what band you using 2.4 or 5 GHZ see if you can connect using the 5GHZ as its faster with new devices, also try a different channel. You can get a phone app to scan and see what devices are using what channel so you can use a channel that's free. I had a sinology and if I remember right when I had one you have to change or check that your running file transfer in SMB3 protocol a quick google on what I had originally came up with the issue and fix on my unit https://bobmckay.com/i-t-support-networking/nas-media-servers/solved-slow-transfer-speeds-synology-nas/

I think the idea behind staying is to ease the pressure on the NHS so 10,000 don't turn up in one week better to have 2,500 a week for 4 weeks rather than 10k in a single goal but if that is the case then certain parts of the uk will be on lockdown for some considerable time. stormbringer Christ man so sorry to hear this news, i hope everything goes ok for your buddy in ICU Eddie Large from "Little & Large" has died off COVID as well today ? Please DON'T DO IT Al1 So sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, and all the really shit things that happened to you both. I can understand how events have driven you to the depths of despair, but there has to be a better solution other than ending it all. I'm at a loss as to what to type. I've never met you but have had you help me out many times and for that I'm truly grateful. I'm getting emotional typing this and all I can do is reiterate. Please DON'T DO IT Al1

I have just paid another £60 for the next 6 months hosting. Thank you to the 3 members who kindly sent me donations, that is really appreciated.Gazza has kindly offered to give me free hosting, so I will have discussions with Gazza and move the site across probably sometime in the New Year. Please ALL continue using our forum here and lets see if we can increase the activity!Bookmark the back up website, so that if JamerPad ever goes offline at anytime, you will have a place to make contact, there is also our Facebook page. I will prevent allowing more posts on the other website within the next 24 hours Thanks Jamer Read more: http://jamerspad.freeforums.net/thread/23/original-pad-safe-6-months#ixzz61cM6Hgne

I'm surprised you haven't closed a long time back jamer. It must be painful to keep coughing up and seeing so few posters or visitors. As I've said before, I've been here from almost the beginning under different names as I was banned a couple of times. (That troy fella really didn't like me) And lol, alloneword called me a C**t a couple of times hehe (probably deserved as I was being one) But in the beginning it was a great place to get software etc that was hard to find. and ironically, it's getting hard to find again with all the ISP's blocking everything. Even IPTV is going down the pan at the moment. Did you read about the big raid in all the european countries. They got to the main hub, confiscated all the equipment and 55 million illegal subscribers lost their connection.

Thank you, we ll we have been here since 1997, so 22 years not many sites can say that although I have just paid for another years hosting I am finding it more difficult to justify the constant updates and costs with the lack of use, maybe I need to start looking at new idea's. I am an avid watch enthusiast, also into Apple devices, Sonos so could look at setting up a few forums, not sure open to ideas.

I had PPI on my mortgage with a building society that did not exist anymore. The PPI people called and wanted my case NO wonder at 30% of anything they get You might have been happy Macs with someone taking your dosh for doing 2 hours work (in your case you must have been due over 12K) I was not and told em to do one. In all honesty - I would rather get nothing than fill their pockets with my actual money. A bit of research (not hard) I found that the original building society had been bought out by the Halifax I went on the Halifax site and they had a section that just deals with PPI. I had long lost the paying in book - no online banking in those days and no idea what the account number was. All I could supply was my name and the address of the property. They had to physically go through old paperwork (from the old society) but they found it and I was paid a decent lump (with no 30% taken of) 6 months after I had been paid out, I received another cheque for £122.30 and a letter explaining that I had left £14 in an account and it had accrued interest. :) MY advice - do your own digging before letting the leeches have a go. They have no more resources than you do.

Think I have been here for almost the 20 too. Been banned a couple of times so a different name these days. (Got threat of violence from an old admin - so I wound him up and he banned me lol - came back under a different name, told him who I really was - banned me again haha) When software and 'stuff was hard to get hold of - Jamers could usually come up trumps
